As a Bookkeeper, daily responsibilities may include:

<ul>
	<li>Record financial transactions and complete the posting process to Xero and other cloud-based bookkeeping systems</li>
	<li>Review account codes and re-coding of transactions</li>
	<li>Process purchase and sales invoices</li>
	<li>Verify that invoices and transactions comply with Purchase Orders</li>
	<li>Process authorized payment to supplier’s invoices in an accurate and timely manner</li>
	<li>Reconcile bank transactions, general ledger accounts and other accounts</li>
	<li>Review and balance of Balance Sheet and P&amp;L account codes</li>
	<li>Encode and post of journal entries for accounts payable and accounts receivable</li>
	<li>Complete year end GST reconciliation with ATO lodgement documentation</li>
	<li>Prepare and lodge of Business and Instalment Activity Statements to the Australian Tax Office</li>
	<li>Process payroll including payroll file payment and bank uploads</li>
	<li>Process expense claims and reimbursements</li>
	<li>Reconcile payroll and superannuation accounts</li>
	<li>Assist with month end accounting process including Payroll and Accounts Payable journals</li>
	<li>Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable</li>
	<li>Prepare and pay of payroll tax returns (monthly) and reconciliation on annual basis</li>
	<li>Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested</li>
	<li>Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other tasks as requested by the client and/or management.</li>

Key Responsibilities of a Senior Tax Accountant:

<ul>
	<li>Prepare and review income tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts</li>
	<li>Assist with the flow of information between the account &amp; its clients</li>
	<li>Liaise with ATO on client matters</li>
	<li>Input data using Xero Online accounting software</li>
	<li>Prepare draft Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) for further review by the offshore Accountants</li>
	<li>Prepare and analyse Financial Statements, for review by the offshore Accountants</li>
	<li>Prepare ATO applications such as ABN, TFN, GST and PAYG</li>
	<li>Handle business entity set-up and registration</li>
	<li>Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant taxation and other related legislation and rulings</li>
	<li>Assist with bookkeeping tasks</li>
	<li>Communicate with direct manager on workflow matters</li>
	<li>Prepare financial statements in accordance with all current, legal and accounting reporting standards</li>
	<li>Identify, research and/or resolve all complex accounting issues</li>
	<li>Prepare workpapers and workflow reports for clients</li>
	<li>Analyse management accounting reports and provide advice to clients</li>
	<li>Performing other tasks as required by the client and the management.</li>
</ul>

 

Other responsibilities may include:

<ul>
	<li>Prepare clear and concise work papers as evidence of work performed</li>
	<li>Apply knowledge of the business environment within which the client is operating and how the client is positioned in the industry</li>
	<li>Share knowledge, best practices, and industry market trends to actively increase the overall knowledge of the team</li>
	<li>Ensure processing of information into the Firm’s systems has been properly recorded</li>
	<li>Provide other support as necessary to the client</li>
	<li>Maintain current files and records accurate, and date any actions and detailed file notes</li>
	<li>Participate in internal and external training as required</li>
	<li>Review junior staff work papers and ensure appropriate evidence is documented</li>
	<li>Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing other tasks as requested by the client.</li>
