- This position is responsible for generating commercial value through performing Power System Analysis and making value accretive recommendations to the AVP of pspee. The Power System Planning Manager will identify transmission network opportunities/threats and contribute more synergy to the techno-economic work between the sub-teams in pspee.
- The position is also responsible for stakeholder engagement with the modeling teams of iemop and ngcp to extract value accretive market intelligence.

Develops, maintains, and continually reassesses/reviews data mining to data visualization process/techniques to support output from Power System models which include but are not limited to: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao - grid models psse, Line rental computed dataset, Transmission loss factors for economic model (for plexoa), Grid System impact study dataset for pss/E, Grid transmission datase and Ancillary requirements and accompanying dataset

Conducts in-depth analysis of the Philippine energy market and other markets, competitor analysis, commercial market forecasts, and power system simulations to generate value accretive results and insights, support forecasting activities/ analysis, and commercial decision making by ensuring, among other things, the following: Regularly monitors and analyzes the Grid Operating and Maintenance program of NGCP to identify and minimize loss impact of outage overlaps to AP fleet by recommending strategies on replacement power, etc.; Evaluates the Environmental Compliance Certificates and System Impact studies of competitors to assess milestones of competitors to flag to AP projects arising risks in the race to connect to scarce transmission assets in the grid; Regularly monitors and evaluates the Transmission development plan of NGCP to anticipate curtailments, delays, demand growth, etc to recommend offensive and defensive transmission strategies for AP; and Evaluates and assess ancillary supply and demand and assess reserve margin situation of the grid and performance of NGCP in order to capture opportunities and protect against threats.

Actively participates in and reinforces the workstreams dedicated to strategy and policy shaping discussions that influence the present and future dynamics of AP. Ensures the efficient communication of transmission analysis, insights, and foresights to uncover new perspectives in assessing commercial opportunities and risks.

Regularly evaluates the market and spearheads the development of initiatives aimed at optimizing commercial opportunities, maximizing gross margin, and mitigating market risk/exposure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- At least 5 years experience as supervisor/senior analyst in Power Systems Analysis using PSS/E software. Preferably with experience in performing Techno-Economic simulations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics, Engineering, or any 4-year related course. Post graduate studies, preferred
- Knowledge on power industry market dynamics and operations (generation, transmission, distribution, retail supply)
- Knowledge on quantitative modeling and scenario simulation (e.g. demand, price forecasting models, power system models)
